1. Which level of hotel is Chelsea Guest House?

Chelsea Guest House is an affordable, room-only guest house in Central London close to Battersea, Clapham and Vauxhall. We offer different room types and tariffs to ensure that we cater for all guests.

Our premium rooms are more spacious and feature modern en-suite bathrooms, luxurious Hypnos beds, crisp white linens and contemporary décor. Welcome trays with tea, coffee and biscuits are complimentary in every room.

2. Does Chelsea Guest House offer discounts or packages?

We provide discounted rates for group accommodation. Group leaders can stay free of charge for groups of 26 people or more. Special T&Cs apply to group bookings. 3. Does the Guest House offer internet access?

Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the Guest House, including guest bedrooms.

4. What are the opening hours for the Reception?

Reception is open 24 hrs/day.

5. What are the check-in / check-out times?

Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is before 11am. Late check-out can be arranged for a small fee (subject to availability).

6. What type of credit card do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards.

7. Which currencies do you accept?

We only accept British Pounds. However, we do offer currency exchange services from most major currencies to British Pounds.

8. Is VAT included in the price?

Room rates are inclusive of VAT (Value Added Tax).

9. How far is the Guest House from the Victoria Coach Station/Rail Station?

Chelsea Guest House is approximately 15 minutes from Victoria Coach Station, Victoria Train Station and Victoria Underground Station. Please feel free to contact us prior to arrival should you require any specific directions.

10. How best to travel to the Chelsea Guest House from London airports?

From London Gatwick Airport: Approximately 50 mins

Take the Southern train to Clapham Junction. From Clapham Junction you can take either bus 77 or 87 towards Vauxhall and alight at Wandsworth Road Train Station.

Alternatively: Take the Gatwick Express train to London Victoria. At Victoria walk to Victoria Underground Station; from here you can take the Victoria line to Vauxhall Underground Station. From Vauxhall Underground Station you can take either bus 77 or 87 towards Clapham and alight at Wandsworth Road Station. Alternatively walk for approximately 15 minutes from Vauxhall Underground Station along Wandsworth Road and you will find us located just after McDonald’s restaurant.

 

From London Heathrow Airport: Approximately 1 hour 20 mins

Take the Picadilly Line to Green Park Underground Station. At Green Park Underground Station change to the Victoria Line for Vauxhall Underground Station. From Vauxhall Underground Station you can take either bus 77 or 87 towards Clapham and alight at Wandsworth Road Train Station. Alternatively walk for approximately 15 minutes from Vauxhall Underground Station along Wandsworth Road and you will find us located just after McDonald’s restaurant.

 

From London Luton Airport: Approximately 1 hour 30 mins

Take the Thameslink train from Luton Parkway Station towards Brighton and get off at King’s Cross St Pancras Train Station. Transfer to the London Underground at King’s Cross Underground Station and take the Victoria Line southbound to Vauxhall Underground Station. From Vauxhall Underground Station take either bus 77 or 87 towards Clapham, alighting at Wandsworth Road Train Station.

Alternatively: Take the Southern train to Clapham Junction. Change trains at Clapham Junction and take a train to Wandsworth Road Station. From the station, Chelsea Guest House is a short walk. Alternatively, you may take either bus 77 or 87 from Clapham Junction towards Vauxhall, getting off at the bus stop for Wandsworth Road Station.

A number of coach companies also travel between Luton airport and London Victoria Coach Station. At Victoria Coach Station walk towards Victoria Underground Station; from here you can take the Victoria line to Vauxhall Underground Station. From Vauxhall Underground Station you can take either bus 77 or 87 towards Clapham and alight at Wandsworth Road Station. Alternatively walk for approximately 15 minutes from Vauxhall Underground Station along Wandsworth Road and you will find us located just after McDonald’s restaurant.

 

From London Stansted Airport: Approximately 1 hour 30 mins

Take the Stansted Express train to London Liverpool Street. At Liverpool Street make your way to the London Underground and take the Central Line to Oxford Circus. At Oxford Circus change to the Victoria Line to Vauxhall Underground Station. From Vauxhall Underground Station you can take either bus 77 or 87 towards Clapham and alight at Wandsworth Road Station. Alternatively walk for approximately 15 minutes from Vauxhall Underground Station along Wandsworth Road and you will find us located just after McDonald’s restaurant.

Alternatively, National Express coaches also travel between Stansted airport and London Victoria Coach Station. At Victoria Coach Station walk towards Victoria Underground Station; from here you can take the Victoria line to Vauxhall Underground Station. From Vauxhall Underground Station you can take either bus 77 or 87 towards Clapham and alight at Wandsworth Road Station. Alternatively walk for approximately 15 minutes from Vauxhall Underground Station along Wandsworth Road and you will find us located just after McDonald’s restaurant.

13. Accessibility

Chelsea Guest House is a Grade II listed building. Floors are accessed by stairways (unfortunately there are no elevators). Should you require an accessible ground floor room, please contact the Reception team. 

14. Sustainability

At Chelsea Guest House all linens and towels are laundered on site. Guests are respectfully encouraged to request towel changes only when necessary, to help reduce water usage.
 
Toiletries (handwash, shampoo and shower gel) are packaged in refillable eco-friendly bottles to help reduce waste and plastic usage; these products are made in the UK using vegan friendly ingredients.
