Introduction and General Terms


Any reservation made by you or on your behalf will be subject to the Terms and Conditions set out below and our Privacy Policy. When making your reservation, whether online, by telephone or in person, you will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions. 


  1. Online Reservations

The Chelsea Guest House website and hotel booking platforms enable you to check room availability and then submit an online or telephone reservation request. On completion of the reservation process, you will receive an online or email confirmation of your reservation. A reservation is only valid and confirmed once you have received your reservation number.

  1. Prices

The prices indicated on the Chelsea Guest House website and on hotel booking platforms are subject to availability.

  1. Payment

It will be necessary for you to provide your payment card details to secure a room, product or service. The payment card may be used to take a deposit, as a guarantee for future payment, in the case of a no-show, damages, a cancellation or a change to the reservation in accordance with our cancellations procedure. By providing your card details you authorise Chelsea Guest House to obtain payment for the purpose of payment or the reservation of a room.

Chelsea Guest House will take card details from ALL guests, regardless of whether they intent to pay by cash or card. This is for security reasons and to avoid fraudulent bookings. We are unable to take reservations that are not supported by card details.

  1. Check-In

Check-In is from 2pm, 7 days per week. Any check-in outside of these hours is by prior arrangement only.

  1. Departure

Check-out is before 11am. Late check-out is available for an additional £10.00 per hour. Room keys must be left at the reception upon departure. If the key is lost by the guest or not returned to us at this time, the customer will be charged £100.00 for the cost of replacing the key and room door lock.

  1. Pre-Authorisation

Chelsea Guest House reserves the right to pre-authorise your credit card for the full reservation amount, 72 hours prior to arrival.

  1. Currency

Reservations will be charged in British Pounds. A foreign currency transaction may be charged by your card provider. A refund of a deposit or prepayment, if any, will be subject to the exchange rate applied by your payment card provider at the time of any such refund and may differ from the exchange rate applied at the time such deposit or prepayment was made.

  1. Cash Payments

Cash payments are accepted and can be made only in British Pounds.

  1. Standard Rate Cancellations

Our cancellation policy varies according to the type of booking made. For standard rate rooms, if cancelled up to 3 days before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If the reservation is cancelled later or in the case of a no-show, 100% of the cost of the first night will be payable. No cancellations are accepted after check-in.

  1. Advanced Purchase Cancellations

Advanced purchase rooms require prepayment in full and are non-refundable and non-transferable. For these rate plans, once you make a reservation, your payment card will be charged for the full amount. Credit will not be given for any unused reservation and the amount paid by you for such reservation cannot be used toward any other or future reservation.

  1. Overbooking

In the unlikely event that a guest cannot be accommodated due to overbooking or other unforeseen circumstance, Chelsea Guest House will attempt to accommodate those guests, at its expense, at a local comparable Guest House.

  1. Group Bookings

Bookings made together for 5 rooms and above are subject to a 20% non-refundable deposit paid at the time of booking. After making a group reservation, either direct or on any other channel, our team will contact you within 48 hours to secure a deposit and confirm your group booking. Chelsea Guest House reserves the right to cancel your booking if you disagree with the above group terms and conditions. The final payment is due 28 days before arrival, when you must confirm and provide room lists which must include guest names, final room numbers and any special requests. Up to 14 days prior to your arrival date, we are able to transfer the booking to a new date; you may, however, be liable for any rate increase charges. Please note the deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable.

  1. Children

All children under 5 years old can stay at Chelsea Guest House for free when using existing bedding.

  1. No Smoking

Chelsea Guest House operates a strict No Smoking policy throughout the building, including public areas and private rooms. Should we have reason to believe that guests have been smoking in any part of the building, a smoking fine of £250 will be chargeable to cover the cost of cleaning. The guest will be asked to leave the premises immediately. No refund or credit will be provided.

  1. No Party / Quiet

We enforce a strict no party/quiet policy for the comfort and security of all guests and will not tolerate excessive noise at any time. If the noise in your room causes discomfort to other guests, we will ask you to keep the volume down. If a second complaint is received you will be asked to leave the property. If you do not co-operate, we will contact law enforcement officers. No refund or credit will be provided.

  1. Damages

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to Chelsea Guest House’s property or structure.

  1. Vehicle Parking

Separate parking charges apply if you would like to park your vehicle at Chelsea Guest House. Chelsea Guest House will not be held responsible or liable for any damage or loss to vehicles or their contents left in our parking spaces. Vehicles and their contents are left at the owner’s risk.

  1. Visitors

We kindly ask you to sign in any visitors you may have during your stay. This is for health and safety and fire regulations.

  1. Pets

Pets are strictly not allowed on the premises.

  1. Mugs

If mugs are found to be missing from the room, a charge of £4 per mug will apply.

  1. Lost Property

Property left on the premises will be stored for one month and in the case of valuable items for two months before they are disposed of. Lost property will be forwarded only at the request, risk and expense of the guest. Chelsea Guest House accepts no liability for loss, damage or late delivery caused by forwarding an item via the postal service. The cost of postage will depend on the size and weight of the item and will be dealt with on an individual basis. 

  1. Special Services

Special occasion birthday and romantic packages can be arranged via our reception staff. Please notify us if you have any allergies or special dietary requirements.

  1. Advertising

Although Chelsea Guest House has endeavoured to ensure that all information in its advertising material is correct at the time of publishing/printing, it reserves the right to alter, substitute or withdraw any service, facility or amenity at any time, without notice if necessary.

  1. Guest Obligations

By making a reservation with us you agree to these terms and conditions. You accept that you are fully responsible for all charges, fees, duties, taxes and any other charges arising as a consequence of your reservation and may not be included in the original rate, when due. You understand that any violation of these terms and conditions may result in the cancellation of your reservation and you forfeiting any monies paid for such reservation and Chelsea Guest House debiting your account for any costs it incurs as a result of such violations.

  1. Complaints

If you have any complaints or concerns about the service that you have received, please let us know. Our complaints procedure is designed to ensure that we resolve any complaints as quickly as possible.

  1. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy applies to all reservations made at Chelsea Guest House and can be found on our website.
